Kalaburagi: The Kalaburagi district has been reeling under soaring temperatures for the past two days. On Tuesday, the district recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The locals have urged the district administration to take the necessary steps to bring the temperatures down such as spraying water on the roads.
Locals, according to a report by ANI, informed that the situation in the district is alarming and that there is no availability of water or fresh fruit juice. “Even if fresh fruit juice is available, we are afraid of getting a COVID-19 infection,” said a local.
He added that even if they carry cold water with them, it becomes warm within half an hour.
“I request the district administration to look into this matter and do the needful,” he said.
