Kalaburagi: A massive fire broke out in the premises of the Central University of Karnataka near Kadaganchi in Aland Taluk on Monday February 27.

According to university sources, the incident of burning of trees, animals and birds on the campus has been going on for the past three to four days.

On Monday February 27, some miscreants set fire to the STP, PBC housing and dry grass near the lake on the university campus, causing a huge amount of smoke.

“The dried straw sticks in the campus were being cut for the last four days as a precautionary measure due to summer. The dry grass thus cut and piled up was deliberately and systematically set on fire by some miscreants. Such acts have been going on for the last three days,” said CUK Basava Peetham Coordinator Dr. Ganapathi B. Sinnura.
