Kalaburgi: In a heart-wrenching incident, seven persons, including a lady who was in labour died on the spot after the SUV in which they were travelling hit a truck parked on the roadside in Savalagi on Alanda road, on the outskirts of Kalaburgi city.
According to the police sources, Irfana Begum (25) is the deceased pregnant woman. A resident of Savalagi, Irfana developed labour pain on the wee hours of Sunday.
Her family was rushing her to a Kalaburgi hospital, but merely a few metres away from the hospital, the SUV hit a parked heavy vehicle and rolled over multiple times killing seven persons on the spot.
A case has been registered at the Kalaburgi traffic police station.
