Koppal: An Anganwadi worker was suspended by the Karnataka Children and Women Welfare Department (KCWWD), after a viral video showing the worker thrashing a child was brought to their notive.
The video, which had gone viral on social media, showed how a person, alleged to be an Anganwadi worker, slapped the child for crying. Taking cognizance of the matter, director of the KCWWD, V Navadagi said that the worker’s action was unwarranted, which is why she would be suspended and counselling would be provided for the child.
As per reports, the incident occurred in the Sajjivala area of the Gundur village.
