Koppal: Koppal Lok Sabha Member Sanganna Karadi said that the Chief Engineer of South Western Railway Zone has submitted the engineering and preliminary traffic survey report of Chitradurga – Alamatti Railway Line to the Railway Board.
In a press release, he stated that the South-Western Zone had undertaken the engineering and survey work of the 264-km-long Chitradurga-Alamatti Railway line with an aim to reduce the gap on the Bengaluru – Solapura railway line.
The new line will pass through important places in Chitradurga, Vijayanagara, Koppal, Bagalakote and Vijayapura Districts such as Hosahalli, Kudligi, Koppal, Kushtagi, Hunagund and Kudalasangama. A total of 2149.36 hectares of land including 1397 hectares of dry land, 644.88 hectares of irrigated land and 107.48 hectares of urban land will have to be acquired.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment A. Narayanaswamy, MP Y. Devendrappa, P. C. Gaddigowda and Ramesh Jigajinagi have expressed hope of getting necessary assistance from the Central Government for the much-awaited Chitradurga-Alamatti Railway line.
