Koppal: Heavy rains accompanied by hailstorm lashed rural areas including Koppal City on Friday April 7. In rural areas, the sheets of houses have been blown away, while some slabs have fallen off.
On the afternoon of Friday, a cloudy atmosphere was created in the earth, which had been hot with the Sun’s intensity in summer, with sudden gusty winds and hailstorms. While the drains were flooded due to heavy rains in the urban areas, hailstorm occurred in other rural areas including Huzhuhal in the Taluk.
As soon as the round-shaped hailstones fell, people would happily collect them and show them to each other and talk to see the hailstorm.
In the evening, due to the strong winds, the farmers’ fields and trees on the sides of the roads were uprooted. Due to high winds, electricity lines fell off in some areas and power cuts in some areas including Muddaballi in the Taluk.
