Koppal: Muslims voluntarily distributed drinks to activists at the saffron flag parade to celebrate Chatrapati Shivaji Jayanti in Kushtagi on Wednesday March 1.
The procession, which began at Kargil Circle here, saw activists carrying a 200-metre-long saffron flag and carrying slogans of ‘Jai Jai Jai Shivaji’ and ‘Bhagavad Dhwaja’ on the main roads of the Town. During the procession on the main roads of the Town, the Muslim brethren of Theggina Lane distributed cold drinks to activists who were thirsty in the sunny day.
Speaking on the occasion, Former MLA and BJP District President Doddanagouda Patil said that it is heartening to note that in an atmosphere of Hindu-Muslim hostility, Muslims have served drinks to Shivaji activists on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti, he said.
