Koppal: In a shocking incident, a housewife was robbed of a 50-gram gold chain near the house of Former MLA H. S. Muralidhar on Bus Stand Road in the City on the afternoon of Saturday March 18.
Parvathamma was taking ration, when two youth from behind asked her to untie the gold chain she was wearing and put it in a bag. When Parvathamma questioned this, she was told that the police were warning the public to immediately untie the gold chain and put it in the handbag.
Parvathamma, who believed the thieves began untying when she was snatched off the gold chain in the pretext of helping her. Soon they fled on a bike. She immediately informed Police Station and when they checked the CCTV cameras in the vicinity, they came across a video of the two men coming on a bike and stealing the chain.
