Raichur: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy who was on his second round of village stay at Karegudda village of Manvi town,  after the one in Yadagir, was welcomed by protestors here on Wednesday, June 26.

As the KSRTC bus in which he was travelling entered the village, hundreds of Yermarus Thermal Power Station (YTPS) workers blocked his bus and began protesting for about 15 minutes demanding an increase in their wages and sorting out other issues. They also began slogans like ‘shame….shame…’

Enraged by this, CM HDK got up from his seat and put his head out of the bus window and said, “Why should I solve your problems? While voting, you have voted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and now to sort out issues, you’ll want me? Do you have any shame? Is this the way you’ll ask me to sort your issues? I will order for a lathi charge on you’ll.”

He also warned of calling off his village stay there, if they continued the protest.

He then spoke with the protestors and asked them why were they behaving like this and that they could have directly approached him and shared their issues. He once again reiterated the same statement regarding voting for Modi, and him to solve their issues.

Meanwhile, the state Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have slammed CM HDK for his rude behaviour. They have collectively said that such an act was against the conduct of a CM and that it brought disrespect to the CM’s chair.

The state BJP has also warned of a massive statewide protest, if CM HDK continued to run the government with this attitude.

State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa has reacted to CM HDK’s behaviour and said, “This shows how bad his mental health is. He has lost mental stability and this is not the first that he has expressed rage over people. He doesn’t like to mingle with people, especially with people from North Karnataka region. He hates them.”

He mocked at his village stay programme and said that it was nothing but a political strategy to gain people’s attention.
