Raichur: In Sindhanur Taluk, the Gram Panchayat at RH No. 1 witnessed discontent among its members, leading to the resignation of more than 15 officials, including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

There was a tie between two members contesting for the Vice-Chairman position. Both had equal votes. Later, when the toss was held, G.P. Vice-Chairman Lakshmi Rani Mandal emerged as the winner. Along with the Vice-Chairman, members Bipras Sardar, Brojen Mandal, Mithali, Chandrima Sarkar, Renuka, Arjun Goldar, Sandhya Mandal, Sandhya Dali, Mukhtirani Biswas, Shriti Mala, Sukumara Bachar, and Basvaraj, totaling 13 members, have also resigned. In total, 19 members have resigned from the Balada Panchayat.

Pradeep Kumar Das, a candidate for the president’s post, was hospitalized due to a severe heart attack. Once he recovers, he is also expected to submit his resignation. Out of the total 38-member panchayat, it is reported that 19 members will resign. Recently, a group of youths from Sindhanur caused a disturbance at the RH camp following a post on social media.

Among the 38 members, one member belongs to the Muslim community, while the others are Hindus. Now, the members who were previously part of the Hindu community have collectively submitted their resignations.
