Karnataka Deputy Cm Issues Ultimatum On Bengaluru Potholes

BENGALURU: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has given officials a 15-day deadline to address potholes across Bengaluru, warning of “merciless action” if the task is not completed. On September 1, Shivakumar instructed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to prioritize pothole repairs and directed 400 staff engineers to focus on the issue.

Failure to meet the deadline could result in suspensions for those responsible, with Shivakumar emphasizing that all officials, regardless of rank, must oversee the repair work personally. He plans to inspect the city himself post-deadline.

Additionally, Shivakumar has called for tree trimming to prevent falls during the rainy season and stressed the importance of managing water logging and other rain-related issues effectively. On October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, students across Bengaluru will take an oath on cleanliness at schools.
