The Karnataka Government has announced the appointment of new directors for six Rangayanas across the state. This decision aims to revitalize these prominent cultural institutions and bring fresh perspectives to their operations.

Satish Tipaturu will take over as the director of Mysore Rangayana, a role that will see him continuing the institution’s legacy of promoting the rich tradition of theatre and performance arts in the region. Raju Talikote has been appointed to lead Dharwad Rangayana, where he is expected to enhance the institution’s role in fostering local culture and arts.

Prasanna D will assume leadership of Shimoga Rangayana, bringing with him a commitment to furthering the institution’s engagement with regional artistic expressions. Dr. Sagar is set to head Kalaburagi Rangayanake, where his role will be pivotal in steering the institution towards new cultural and artistic ventures.

In a unique decision, Sujatha Jangam Shetty and Venkataramana Aithala have been jointly appointed to lead Karkala’s Yaksha Rangayana. This collaborative leadership is anticipated to bring diverse approaches to the promotion and preservation of Yakshagana, a traditional dance-drama form. Mallikarjuna Kadakola has been named as the new director of Davanagere’s Vritti Rangabhumi Rangayana. His appointment is expected to infuse the institution with renewed energy and innovative ideas.
