Karnataka Government to Implement Digital System for Indira Canteens

Karnataka Government To Implement Digital System For Indira Canteens

Bengaluru: The Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government is set to introduce a new digital system aimed at enhancing efficiency and accessibility at Indira Canteens.

The upcoming platform will enable customers to reserve meals at their nearest Indira Canteens, with food prepared and set aside for a short period to ensure timely pickup. This system prioritizes improving in-person pickup experiences rather than traditional food delivery.

The digital system will also include a feedback mechanism, allowing customers to rate food quality and report issues directly. This feedback will be promptly reviewed by authorities to address concerns related to food quality, contractor management, and cleanliness.

The initiative will begin as a pilot project in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, with the BBMP currently calling for tenders to implement this digital upgrade. If successful, the system will be expanded to other districts based on customer feedback. The move is part of a broader effort to maintain Indira Canteens as reliable and affordable dining options for the economically disadvantaged and lower-middle class.

By tracking daily transactions and customer preferences, the authorities aim to tailor menu offerings to meet local demand, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the program.
