Karnataka Minister’s Explosive Statement on Pahalgam Attack Sparks Controversy
In the aftermath of the devastating Pahalgam terror attack, tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated. Adding fuel to the fire, Karnataka Housing and Minorities Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan went viral after making a sensational statement during a press conference on Friday.
Khan declared he was willing to carry a suicide bomb and attack Pakistan, claiming that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah permitted it, he would “go to war” personally.
“Pakistan has never been a friend to India. If the Centre authorizes me, I’ll strap a bomb to myself and go fight them,” he said passionately.
Khan’s remarks followed his strong condemnation of the April 22 Pahalgam attack, where Lashkar-linked terrorists gunned down 26 people, including tourists, in a gruesome religiously targeted assault. Survivors reported that the terrorists forced victims to recite Islamic prayers and identify their religion before executing them.
The militant group The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility for the bloodshed, which marked one of the worst attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years.
In retaliation, India downgraded diplomatic relations with Pakistan, suspended the Indus Water Treaty, and imposed airspace restrictions, while Pakistan countered by halting bilateral trade and closing its air routes to Indian flights.
Khan’s incendiary rhetoric has sparked both criticism and support online, further intensifying the emotional climate as national security dominates public discourse.
