
Karnataka reports 40 fresh Covid-19 infections, active cases rise to 126
On Wednesday, Karnataka confirmed 40 new Covid-19 cases, raising the total number of active infections in the state to 126, the health authorities announced.
The latest data reveals a positivity rate of 10.12 percent over the past 24 hours. During this period, Karnataka conducted a total of 395 tests, which included 344 RTPCR tests and 51 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT), as per the health department’s official bulletin.
Earlier in the day, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Karnataka’s Health Minister, visited KC General Hospital located in Malleswaram. His visit aimed at evaluating the hospital’s readiness to manage Covid-19 patients effectively.
Minister Rao personally inspected critical resources, ensuring that oxygen cylinders, emergency ICU beds, ventilators, face masks, and other essential Covid-related medical supplies were adequately stocked and of good quality.
He further informed that the state government is preparing to launch a dedicated helpline specifically for Covid-19 related public inquiries and assistance. This initiative is expected to help citizens receive timely support and information regarding the pandemic.
With cases fluctuating, the health department continues to emphasize testing and preparedness as key strategies to control the spread of the virus.
