The Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) results for 2025 are expected to be announced during the first week of May, as confirmed by School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa. The exams, conducted from March 21 to April 4, saw a total of 8,96,447 students4,61,563 boys and 4,34,884 girls—participating across 2,818 centres statewide. 65,000 assessors were deployed at 240 evaluation centres to ensure timely and smooth grading of answer scripts.

Minister Bangarappa also addressed changes in the evaluation process, stating that the grace marks system introduced during the COVID period would not be continued. The criteria will return to the original format, where students need to score a minimum of 175 marks across all subjects to be eligible for grace marks. The passing threshold will also revert to 35 marks, up from the reduced 25 marks during the pandemic.

In 2024, 8.9 lakh students appeared for the exams, with an overall pass percentage of 73.40%, a decline from previous years, including 83.89% in 2023 and 85.13% in 2022. The 2024 results saw an increase in normalization, raising grade marks from 10% to 20%. The qualifying marks were reduced to 25% from the usual 35%. Notably, 78 schools reported zero results, including three in Bengaluru.
