In Mandya’s Madegowdanakoppalu village, residents have made headlines by boycotting private schools to save their local government school and preserve the Kannada language. For over two decades, not a single child has been enrolled in private institutions, with the village rejecting the buses sent by private schools to lure students.

Villagers believe the government provides quality education and basic amenities, and they are determined to keep their children in government schools. Currently, over 20 children are enrolled, with alumni working in Bengaluru and Mysore, showing the success of this initiative.
