A yellow weather warning has been issued for South Interior and Coastal Karnataka on March 26, signaling the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h, as per the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC). The forecast indicates that the state will experience overcast skies today, with scattered moderate rainfall expected in the coastal and Malnad regions. South Interior and North Interior Karnataka are also likely to see light to moderate rainfall in some areas.

For the next five days, dry conditions are expected to persist across most of the state. However, rainfall is predicted to occur in certain districts. The affected regions include:

  • Coastal Karnataka & Malnad Region: Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga, Kodagu, Hassan, and Chikkamagaluru.
  • Dry Weather Areas: Bagalkot, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagar.

Several areas, such as Afzalpur, Lingasugur, Sagar, Indi, and Bellur, have already recorded rainfall. As weather conditions vary across different parts of the state, residents are urged to stay alert and prepare for rapid weather changes in the coming days.
