Several parts of Karnataka recorded extreme heat over the past 24 hours, with Ghadasaya and Mavinakurvei in Uttara Kannada hitting the highest temperature of 42.2°C, according to KSNDMC. Other hotspots included:

🔹 Kadaba (Dakshina Kannada) – 41.3°C
🔹 Kurdi (Raichur) – 41.2°C
🔹 Kamalanagara (Bidar) & Salgundi (Raichur) – 41°C+
Uttara Kannada recorded the most locations (19) exceeding 38°C, followed by Dakshina Kannada (9), Raichur (5), and Bidar (4). Dry conditions continue to dominate, with North Interior Karnataka expected to see a 2-3°C temperature rise in the next five days. Coastal Karnataka will remain hot and humid on March 16-17.
Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada received the highest rainfall, with Kilpady in Mulki recording 81.5 mm, followed by Yekkaru (77 mm) and Kemral (77 mm). Showers also hit Manchi, Ira, Kinnigoli, and other areas. Rainfall was fairly widespread in Hassan, scattered in Chamarajanagar, and isolated in Udupi, Tumakuru, and parts of North Karnataka.
🌩 KSNDMC Forecast: Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is likely in South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, and Malnad regions. The rest of the state is expected to remain dry.
