Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, highlighted the state’s global competitiveness during the Invest Karnataka 2025 summit, emphasizing that the state is not competing with other Indian states but with the world. Speaking at the award ceremony, he stated that the event showcased Karnataka’s economic prowess.

“We are not competing with other states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, or Gujarat. Karnataka, especially Bengaluru, is competing on the global stage,” said Shivakumar, stressing that investment in Karnataka benefits both businesses and the nation as a whole.

He pointed to the state’s growing strength in industries such as aerospace and noted that Karnataka’s MSMEs are a key asset. Reflecting on Karnataka’s industrial growth, Shivakumar mentioned that large corporations, both domestic and international, had chosen the state due to its favorable policies and business environment. He also lauded the new industrial policy for encouraging investment in various regions of the state.

Shivakumar also acknowledged the newly introduced tourism policy led by HK Patil, which aims to preserve historical landmarks while promoting the development of a 300 km coastal zone.

The summit saw investments totaling Rs 10.27 lakh crore, with Rs 4.3 lakh crore already finalized and agreements signed for another Rs 6 lakh crore. Foxconn’s new project in Doddaballapur, set to employ 40,000 people, was also highlighted.

Karnataka’s energy policies, including the One Nation One Grid and the state’s electric vehicle policy, were also praised for fostering growth in the sector.
