In a bold effort to enhance tourism, Karnataka is introducing sea planes to key tourist destinations, offering a fresh and exciting way to explore the state. The initiative, set to launch soon, will improve travel accessibility to renowned spots such as Hampi, Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS), and the Almatti backwaters. These locations, often called Karnataka’s “tourism gems,” will be more reachable than ever, attracting a larger flow of visitors.

Tourism Minister HK Patil emphasized the government’s commitment to showcasing Karnataka’s rich cultural and historical landmarks. This initiative also includes a multi-lingual website that will provide comprehensive information on the state’s tourist attractions in several foreign languages. In collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, the platform aims to boost Karnataka’s global presence and draw international tourists.

During the Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE) in Bengaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah outlined plans to upgrade the state’s tourism infrastructure, including improved rail and road connectivity. The government is working to ensure that visitors can seamlessly access Karnataka’s best sites.

Additionally, a 3D virtual tour of heritage sites was launched, offering short 3D films of 20-30 temples and landmarks protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). This innovative tech allows global audiences to explore Karnataka’s cultural treasures from home.

These combined efforts—sea planes, a multi-lingual website, and virtual tours—will make Karnataka more accessible and attractive to tourists, showcasing its natural beauty and cultural depth.
