Kasargod: An 11-year-old boy died after a rope tied to a flagpole accidentally became entangled around his neck while he was playing near an Anganwadi at Kanjipoyil near Madikai in Kasargod on Thursday evening.
Boy dies in tragic accident
The deceased has been identified as Anek, son of Rajesh and Neethu. He was a fifth-standard student at a school in Kanjipoyil, according to the report.
The incident occurred on the premises of the Nandanakuli Anganwadi at Kanjipoyil. Anek was reportedly playing in front of the Anganwadi at around 5 pm on Thursday when the rope attached to the flagpole accidentally tightened around his neck.

Autorickshaw driver comes to boy’s aid
An autorickshaw driver who was passing through the area noticed the boy in distress. He immediately stopped and freed Anek from the rope.
