Madikeri witnessed the launch of a groundbreaking initiative, the Kodagu District Police Cultural Forum, on Sunday evening, with a musical event that ran late into the night. The event featured mesmerizing performances by renowned singers, setting an inspiring tone for the forum’s future.

District Superintendent of Police and grand patron of the forum, K Ramarajan, inaugurated the platform, emphasizing the importance of recreational activities for overall well-being. He highlighted that everyone has unique talents that require proper outlets for expression. Given the high-stress nature of police work, he stressed that such activities are crucial for maintaining the mental health of officers.

Additional Superintendent of Police and forum president, KS Sundar Raj, shared how the police force’s cultural talents had been recognized during sports events. He also reflected on the department’s recent successes in solving criminal cases and drug-related arrests, underscoring that this forum would give officers a chance to display their creative abilities.

Journalist and singer G Chidvilas praised the forum’s potential to foster talent and commended the police department’s cultural engagement and crime prevention efforts. Actress Tejaswini Sharma acknowledged the dedication of police officers, regardless of weather, while PK Raju, city circle inspector and forum general secretary, shared the vision behind the forum, which was supported by former DYSP Mahesh Kumar and SP K Ramarajan. Actress Ulliyada Harshika Poonachha lauded the initiative, calling police officers society’s true protectors.
