Another woman sustained injuries in the collapse and is in critical condition. She has been admitted to Gangavati Government Hospital for further treatment.

The women’s toilet had been in a state of disrepair for several months, prompting the Town Panchayat to restrict access. As a result, the women in the area had stopped using the facility. The recent rains likely weakened the wall further, causing it to abruptly collapse on Friday night. It appears the women resorted to using the old toilet due to the nighttime hours.

The deceased women have been identified as Bhanubegam Khazi (40) and Umabai Bapparagi (36). Mahadevi Rajanna, who is in critical condition, has been transferred to Gangavati Hospital for further treatment.

Local authorities, including Taluk Executive Officer Ravi Angadi, CPI Yashwant Bisanhalli, TP Chief Executive Officer Nabisaab Khudnavar, and PSI Sujatha Nayak, visited the site to investigate the incident.
