K’taka Govt issues revised Covid-19 guideline

Bengaluru: Considering the Covid-19 situation in the State, the Karnataka government on Monday August 30 issued a revised guideline to curb the spread of virus, which will remain until 6 am on September 13.

The order states that a decision in this regard was made as the Health Experts recommend that focused surveillance, testing-tracking-treatment, vaccination, stringent micro containment measures, and strict adherence to Covid – 19 appropriate behaviour must be continued to stop the spread of virus.

According to the guidelines published by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, weekend curfew imposed in the districts of Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagara has been lifted. However, weekend curfews will continue in Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu, Udupi and Hassan districts.

Students can attend exams during the weekend curfew if they follow the guidelines given by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka. It is also mentioned that the hall ticket will act as a form of identification (pass) for purposes of movement.

They must submit negative RT – PCR certificates received no more than 72 hours prior to entering the State and will be subjected to a 7-day mandatory institutional quarantine. They too will be subjected for RT-PCR test. The same is applicable for employees who are working in Karnataka and are coming from Kerala, or who have visited Kerala in the seven days prior to entering the State. It states that it will be the management or employer who is responsible for enforcing the rules.

Marriages or family functions are permitted to be held with gatherings up to 50 per cent of the hall capacity and with a maximum of 400 people.

According to the order, there would be strict surveillance in areas bordering Kerala and Maharashtra. Separate orders will be issued by the Education Department regarding the applicable guidelines for the opening.
