Kundapur: A local businessman, Satishchandra Balkur, has reported a case of alleged fraud involving the purchase of corn to the rural police station. Balkur, the owner of Arish Overseas Impens, a trading and merchant export business, claims to have been deceived by Mohan Kumar, the proprietor of Kandoba Enterprises, and Deepak Dagaduba Bhosle, who owns Deepika Trading Company.
According to Balkur’s complaint, the issue began when Mohan Kumar approached him with a proposal to buy corn. Kumar connected Balkur with Deepak Bhosle, who supposedly agreed to supply the corn. Acting on this arrangement, Balkur travelled to Chikali, Maharashtra, where he purchased 55 metric tons of corn at a total cost of Rs. 13.05 lakh. The payment was made in two installments: Rs. 12.43 lakh for the corn and an additional Rs. 62,000 for transportation.
Despite the full payment being completed, Balkur asserts that he never received the corn. Deepak Bhosle reportedly refunded Rs. 11.55 lakh, explaining that the corn was unavailable. This partial refund and the failure to deliver the corn led Balkur to file a complaint accusing both Bhosle and Kumar of fraud.
The complaint lodged by Balkur has been registered at the rural police station, where officials are now investigating the matter. The case centres around allegations of financial deceit and breach of contract, with Balkur seeking to recover the remaining Rs. 1.5 lakh and hold the involved parties accountable for the alleged fraud.
The investigation will focus on verifying the claims of both parties and determining whether there was any wrongdoing in the transaction. The resolution of this case could involve legal proceedings if the allegations are substantiated.
This incident highlights the risks associated with business transactions and the importance of due diligence when dealing with suppliers and partners. The outcome of the investigation will be closely monitored, as it could set a precedent for handling similar cases of business fraud.
For now, Satishchandra Balkur is awaiting justice and seeking the return of his funds. The rural police station’s handling of the case will be crucial in determining the final resolution and ensuring that any fraudulent activities are addressed appropriately.
