Hubballi: MLC Pradeep Shettar expressed his discontent with the systematic suppression of Lingayat leaders in the BJP and his disappointment at not being invited to a felicitation ceremony for the gram panchayat president and vice-president in Hubballi.
In a press meet, He expressed his disappointment, mentioning that he had skipped several programs despite being a Council member. This particular event is not the only one; there are four or five others that I have missed, and it saddens me. I’m perplexed about the reasons behind this. Nonetheless, he emphasized that the BJP’s success hinges on providing leadership roles to Veerashaiva Lingayat leaders. He affirmed his commitment to the party and his intention to raise the issue of injustices against Lingayat leaders with national leaders.
Numerous prominent Congress leaders have reached out to me. The departure of Jagadish Shettar from the BJP presents a challenge. With Yediyurappa’s removal from the chief minister’s position, the BJP is left with very few Lingayat leaders. Neglecting them could spell trouble for the BJP. He suggested that the BJP’s state coordinators should consider making changes.
