In a dramatic monsoon rescue in Dakshina Kannada, five tourists stranded atop Erugundi Falls near Paladka in Puthige village, Moodbidri, were saved by quick-thinking locals after sudden rains caused a dangerous surge in water levels.
The group had climbed to the top of the waterfall when the flow intensified without warning. Trapped by the rushing water and at risk of being swept away, the tourists found themselves in grave danger.
Fortunately, nearby residents jumped into action. A video of the incident shows four to five individuals balancing on slippery rocks and using a rope to pull the tourists to safety, one by one.
The swift and brave response by the villagers prevented a potential tragedy amid the intensifying monsoon conditions.
