Chikkamagaluru: Chikkamagaluru DC Dr Bagadi Gowtham issued an order allowing light vehicles to use the Charmadi ghat road so that they can reach coastal districts of the state.
The Ghat was closed down for over a month, following landslides and flooding caused by heavy rainfall.
According to the order issued by the DC, light vehicles can now ply on this stretch only between 6 am and 6 pm at 20 kmph.
However, the ban on the movement of trucks, buses, and other heavy-weight vehicles still continues.
