Chikkamagaluru: With a view to eradicate corruption in the Country and the State, District Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders took out a procession from Hanumanthappa Circle to Azad Park in the City and started the campaign by sweeping the road with brooms.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Secretary Dr K. Sundara Gowda alleged that the Government today indulged in corruption by increasing the taxes of the public and getting 40 per cent commission. “Over the last three years, more than 3,000 farmers have committed suicide and lost their lives due to non-payment of any schemes to the farming community. So far, the Government has not announced compensation for those families,” he said.

He said that in the coming days, if the Government’s ignore the farmers, the backbone of the country will be broken and if the Governments take tough decisions on the issue of farmers, the next generation of young people will be in danger of losing their democracy. “The public should wake up and take a pledge to build a corruption-free India,” he said.

He also demanded full support to AAP to run a similar kind of governance in the State, just as the Delhi model of public tax money was used for public development.

AAP District President Hemant said that as per the orders of senior leaders, a campaign has been launched across the State. He said that various Government offices, including Municipal Corporations and Taluk offices in the District, are indulging in rampant corruption and if the public has to get rid of these, they should support AAP in the next assembly elections.

The people’s representatives of the District are making the common man even poorer by acquiring property everywhere. If the public closely observes these and supports the AAP candidate in the next elections, the Delhi model of governance can be implemented in our State, he added.
