Chikkamagaluru: “The Congress Party, which has leaders who turn their heads on saffron, wants to come back to power and become the Chief Minister. The people of the State will not forgive them,” said State BJP Vice President B. Y. Vijayendra.

He was delivering the keynote address at the Yuva Sangama programme organised by the District BJP at AIT College Grounds in the City. “If the Congress was day-dreaming of coming back to power in the State, and proud of being Hindus they would have not let the killings of 25 to 30 Hindus during their tenure. They would not have protected those who set fire on the house of Dalit MLA of their own party along with schemes for minority appeasement,” he said.

“When Congress workers went to wear saffron turbans, Siddaramaiah threw them away. If we apply vernillion, they will wipe it off,” he said.

“The BJP has to come back to power in the State. In the history of the State, there should be a result written in golden letters. For this, the workers should work like soldiers for the next two months,” he said, adding that the aim before us is to bring the BJP back to power. Modi’s hand should be strengthened by retaining 25 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well,” he added.

“The BJP has not only come to power in the elections in the North-Eastern states but has also thrown out the Congress. The Congress party, which ruled the country for six decades even after 75 years of independence, has been riding on the country. From 2004 to 2014, the Congress-led UPA Government worked continuously for 10 years but did not develop the country. They didn’t work as per youth’s dream. The Congress party is credited with bringing the country to a stage where it is not possible to stand with pride at the world level,” he said.

“During the tenure of the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the 2G Coal, Commonwealth Games and Bofors scams were scams of more than Rs 12 Lakh Crore. By 2014 the country had come to a point where there was no future at all,” he said.

“While resigning as CM, Yediyurappa had said that he would once again bring the BJP to power in the State with a clear majority. The opposition knows better than us what will happen if Yediyurappa challenges him. Therefore, they are chanting the name of Yediyurappa wherever they go,” he said.

BJP National General Secretary C.:T. Ravi, Kadur MLA Belli Prakash, District Yuva Morcha President Santosh Kotian, State President Dr. Sandeep, District BJP President H. D. Kalma Rudappa, Safai Karmachari Corporation President K. P. Venkatesh, Yuva Morcha State General Secretary Ajith Hegde, City Council President Varasiddhi Venugopal, City BJP President Madhu Kumar Urs, Rural President Ishwaralli Mahesh, CDA President C. Anand and others were present.
