Chikkamagaluru: Forest scene at Charmadi Ghat Traffic jam

Chikkamagaluru: At the seventh turn of the white Charmadi Ghat of Kottigehara in Mudigere Taluk, a lone elephant stood on the side of the road creating fear for the motorists.

Mangaluru Hassan’s government bus escaped it narrowly. Seeing the elephant, the driver immediately stopped the bus, and the elephant, which was resting near a tree on the side of the road, after sometime went to the other side of the seventh turn and stopped.

Many vehicles lined up behind the bus for more than half an hour and one by one the vehicles passed slowly. After wild elephant passed a short distance from where the bus was, all the passengers heaved a sigh of relief.

Later, the public informed the forest officials and demanded that the vehicular traffic should be restricted at Charmadi Ghat for the night.
