Chikkamagaluru: A kingfisher bird, which was suffering from fear for its life after being struck by a kite string, has survived due to the punctuality of the locals.
The wings of a Kingfisher bird were stuck to the string of a kite wrapped in a high-tension wire that had passed over a farm in the city’s Gowri canal badavane.
Though he was trying to escape by flapping his wings, it was more dangerous to get caught in the string.
Chikmagalur Press Club President B.M. Ravi immediately took a punctuality and alerted Rubin Moses, former municipal council member and executive director of Animal Care Trust. When they reached the spot, they caught hold of the bird, untied the string and rescued it and flew away. His humanitarian help was appreciated by those present.
