Chikkamagaluru : Hebbanahalli Village in Belagodu Hobli of the Taluk is a very big village but MLA H. K. Kumaraswamy has been an MLA several times in Sakaleshpur but he does not know exactly where the Dalit families live in the Taluk, alleged people of the Village.
People alleged that If all roads elsewhere are developed by making roads like asphalted road, gravel road, here only mud road seems to be permanent. The MLA does not even pay attention to the work of closing potholes on this road. The village does not have proper drinking water, there is no asphaltation, and there is no box drainage system. The street lights are not properly arranged, they rued.
The villagers of Hebbanahalli (Mastigayya Colony), who are living in such a situation, have warned that they will teach Kumaraswamy a lesson in this election. There are about 40 houses in this village and so far no official has paid any attention to it and none of the people’s representatives have turned towards it, they note.
Gram Panchayat Members And Taluk Panchayat Members, Zilla Panchayat Members, the elected representatives go to this village only when the elections are held and they are busy in making money, but the development of this village is zero, they alleged.
The road has not been repaired for many years and a forest has grown along the side of the road, making it difficult for vehicular traffic. The Gram Panchayat officials concerned have to clear the forest on the side of the road at least as a courtesy and facilitate safe movement on the road. In recent times, the menace of wild elephants has increased In any case, if the village is not provided with basic amenities and a good road in the next few days, all the villagers will have to boycott the elections, they warned.
