Chikkamagaluru: Reacting to Sri Rama Sene District President Ranjith Shetty’s statement that Pramod Muthalik, who will be contesting as an independent candidate from Karkala this time should not get any opposition and that MLA C. T. Ravi should cooperate without fielding a BJP candidate against him, Minister Sunil Kumar said that in a Democracy, all those who are eligible have the right to contest elections. He further said he would welcome Muthalik if he contests from Karkala.

Speaking to mediapersons he said, “There is no need for anyone else to state our party’s stand. In a Democracy there should be competitions like this. Ultimately, it is the voters who decide everything,” he said.

Shetty had further stated, “if a candidate against Muthalik is fielded then in Chikkamagaluru Constituency we will field our candidates against C. T. Ravi.”
