Chikkamagaluru: MLA C. T. Ravi said “no other country in the world except India is there an opportunity for a person to become God when he/she has sacraments,” he said.

Sri Basavatatva Peetham (Re) in the City on Sunday February 12 was sanctioned Rs. 3 Crore in the premises of Sri Basava Mandir.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the new Matha at a cost of Rs. 3 Crore. “If a man is given samskara, he becomes God. Nowhere else in the world is there a possibility of a human being becoming a God. However, there is an opportunity in India,” he said.

He said Basava Mandir Matha is being rebuilt due to the connection between Lord and the devotees. “It is only through collective effort that great things can be accomplished,” he said and added that Basava Tattva Peetha should not be just a building but should become a grand temple with the cooperation of devotees.

“Matha is the principal centre of samskara and guides the society. It is only when the feelings of the devotees merge with the Matha that a great centre of worship can be established,” he noted.
