Chikkamagaluru: The election arena in the District is gaining momentum by the day. YSV Datta who is contesting on a Congress ticket from Kadur Assembly Constituency was paid Rs. 101 by a supporter to meet his election expenses.
YSV Datta , MLA from Kadur Taluk of the District and popularly known as Datta Mestru was greeted with Rs. 101 by one of his supporter for election expenses. YSV Datta, who had been a staunch JD (S) stalwart for the last 50 years, was very close to Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda.
However, in the last two months, he left the the JD (S) and joined the Congress. He is now projected as the Congress Candidate from Kadur. So, a man from Giriyapura in Kadur Taluk donated Rs. 101 to wish him luck for the elections.
The supporter sent the money along with the letter by post. In the letter he wrote, “Your love, care, respect for the Constituency and the voters and the development you have done will be remembered. The ideas of the integrity of the Country that you have propagated about a united Karnataka in the Alva’s Nudisiri remain etched in the minds of the people. Your concept of rainwater harvesting and saving nature has attracted people. The people are with you for your personality which focuses on the development of the constituency. You have a new responsibility to solve the problems of the common man and we hope you will handle it,” he wrote in the letter.
‘I am not financially strong. So, I have made a small gift for you. All the votes of our family are for you. He wrote a letter saying that he would talk to like-minded people and help him strengthen hands and offered Rs. 101 to YSV Datta as a good luck.
