Chikkamagaluru: Sri Rama Sene founyder Pramod Muthalik said that the reduction in the age of consuming alcohol from 21 to 18 is condemnable. He said that the State Government had created an “ugly situation” by encouraging the consumption of liquor.
In a video statement released in the City, he condemned the State Government’s decision.
The State Government has announced a shocking news. Everyone knows that alcohol is a dangerous drink. Gandhiji had said that liquor should be banned across the Country. Mahatma Gandhi had suggested it 75 years ago. But Government is playing politics using alcohol, he stated.
As a result, students and labourers expressed concern that farmers were falling prey to alcoholism, he noted.
He warned that the State Government should immediately withdraw the order or else the Sri Rama Sene, including Women’s Councils, would stage a massive protest against the Government.
