Chikkamagaluru: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly throwing nails at steep turns with the intention of causing an accident on the way to Dattapeetha on the occasion of Datta Jayanti.
The rest are absconding and a search operation is on, said Superintendent of Police Uma Prashanth.
In a press release on Thursday December 15 he said that a case was registered at the Rural Police Station in this regard after miscreants deliberately threw nails at the turns with the intention of disturbing the vehicles on the route of Kaimara Dattapeetha.
Separate teams were formed to trace the miscreants. Mohammed Shahbaz (29) and Waheed Hussain (21) of Dubai City were arrested on a tip-off that two persons had purchased four kilograms of similar nails from a hardware shop in Chikkamagaluru City.
