Chikkamagaluru: Voting from home for senior citizens held

Chikkamagaluru: As many as 176 senior citizens and 31 differently-abled persons were sent to the respective polling booths and teams to cast their votes from home in Mudigere Assembly Constituency (SC) where they received postal ballot paper 12D.

Among the eligible persons who received postal ballot form-12D, returning officer Rajesh H. D. visited the house of 103-year-old Bibi Jan, a senior voter at booth number 38 at Government Higher Primary School, Kanathi Village, Avathi Hobli. He honored her with a bouquet and made her vote through a postal ballot from home.

Among the eligible persons who received postal ballot Form-12D, the area number of polling station at Government Higher Primary School in Banakal Hobli, Halehalli (Bharathi Bailu) village’s 104-year-old Puttamma, a senior voter of 836 booth was given ballot paper. Thippeswamy honoured Puttamma with a bouquet and made her vote through a postal ballot from her home. Election Commissioner H. D. Rajesh and the official staff were present.
