Sringeri: There is more evidence for the Congress party’s new soft Hindutva ideology in Karnataka too after its success in Gujarat. The Siddaramaiah government has hit the headlines by sanctioning an aid of Rs.1 crore to Harihara Mutt of Sringeri, which was put on hold by the same government earlier!
It is a known fact that Brahmin votes play decisive role in Assembly election in Shringeri constituency. Earlier, former chief minister Jagadish Shetter had released the aid when he was in power, but it was later put on hold by the AHINDA tagged Congress Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Now, all of a sudden, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has responded to a request made by Rajegowda and sanctioned the amount to the mutt. Along with this, the government has also agreed to sanction Rs. 50 lakh to the Sringeri ‘Buntara Bhavana’, according to the sources.
