Chikkamagaluru: Believe it or not! All senior positions in the district administration are held by women after the recent transfer of the lone man, Deputy Commissioner Shadakshar Swamy. To top it all, the MP from the district Shobha Karandhlaje is the most powerful among the women in the list.
One wonders whether it is due to Indira Gandhi’s legacy or Taradevi’s effect!
The list starts off with the new Deputy Commissioner G Sathyavathi and proceeds further with Additional Deputy Commissioner Vaishali, Assistant Commissioner Snehal and the Zilla Panchyath CEO Dr Ragapriya. According to Vaishali, the additional DC, women play a vital role in the family and the same thing continues in the district administration where all are working united and their collective efforts are bearing fruits.
Even the ZP president is a woman by name Chaithra who heads a team filled with women which has made many people raise their eyebrows in the district known for coffee.
The lines of poet William Ross’s poem sums it all in one line that is,
