Chikkamagaluru: As the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition government got a whiff of ‘Operation Lotus’, the Congress leaders in the state and high command were alert and planned a strategy to retain their MLAs. Former chief Minister Siddaramaiah has also criticised the move by the BJP.
Addressing the media in Birur on Wednesday, January 16, Siddaramaiah said that the BJP party had no shame and its members were spreading only false news.
He said that they had no belief in the Constitution.
“They have got a mandate to serve as an opposition party but not to rule the state. They are trying to destabilise the coalition government”, criticised Siddaramaiah.
He ridiculed BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa as a 77-year-old who is still immature.
Siddaramaiah accused BSY of unethical efforts to become the chief minister and also offering the Congress-JDS MLAs crores of rupees.
He said the BJP was so shameless that they had locked all the MLAs in a resort in Haryana and were giving false assurance of ‘Sankranti’ and ‘Ugadi’ gifts.
He said there was no discussion on four ministers who were asked to step down.
