Chikkamagaluru: In the recent past, several cases of honey-trapping have been reported in this part of the Malnad region. Several people living in and around the town also have doubts that a closed group of people are filming objectionable videos amid the forests of Malnad.
It seems that several people have been affected by honey-trapping as they lose their money in exchange for their dignity. Just recently, a person lost Rs. 2 Lakh in Narasimharajapura after falling bait to an organised honey-trap.
According to sources, Ruksana Banu and Khairunnisa are the ones involved in honey-trapping, accompanied by Prakash, Lijesh, Narendra and Arun. Several complaints were received by Narasimharajapura Police Station regarding this matter and the police have arrested every single one of them. Involvement of more people is suspected by the police in-charge of this case.
Modus Operandi of the honey-trapping duo
Both Ruksana and Khairunnisa operate by getting extremely friendly with rich men during various parties and other programmes. The men are later lured into the duo’s farm house where they would call in young girls to record the men having intercourse with the girls. Ruksana and Khairunnisa would then extort money from the men after blackmailing them with the footage.
There could be several men who were blackmailed in this manner as some victims do not come to the fore as they fear that their reputation in the society will take a beating. Hence these men would cover up the matter by paying the amount that the suspects demanded.
According to police, another case of this order was reported in Shivamogga just a week ago. Chikkamagaluru Superintendent of Police Annamalai has released a statement mentioning that the investigations are on and necessary action will be taken against the suspects.
