Chikkamagaluru: All the three absconding accused in the honey-trapping incident that shook the entire Malnad region have been nabbed by the police in Sagar.
Various theories were making rounds, specifically pointing at lapses on part of the police after the accused went missing.
Kairunissa, Ruksana and Arun, the three main accused in the case who were absconding have been arrested.
With the police too hushing up the matter, the issue of the accused going missing came to light on Saturday morning leaving the police red-faced. Some say that the police had sent them away on January 17 without filing an FIR asking them to return the following day. The accused fled and never returned.
Chikkamagaluru SP Annamalai had directed N R Pura PSI to find the gang and bring them to book.
Meanwhile, SP Annamalai has issued notice to five officers behind the missing of accused. Also he has directed a departmental enquiry. Reports say that SI Sunitha and others will be transferred to different stations of the district.
