Chikkamagaluru: The police nabbed a resident of Bantwal on January 11, an accused in the suicide case of Dhanyashree.
The accused Santhosh, a resident of Badgajekar in Bantwal was nabbed by police in the state capital Bengaluru.
Dhanyashree (20), a student from Chatra Maidan area of Mudigere had committed suicide at her residence on January 7.
Dhanyashree while chatting with proxy friend Santhosh from Mangaluru on WhatsApp had spoken in support of Muslims. She had sent a message that read ‘I love Muslims’. Santhosh later took a screenshot of her messages and shared it with the Bajrang Dal and pro-Hindu groups. Subsequent events forced her to commit suicide after starving for 36 hours before death.
