Hassan: The presiding deity of Hassan, Hasanambe, and the state’s goddess of power, offers darshan just once a year, between November 2 and 15. The sanctum sanctorum doors open at 12:30 pm in the presence of district administration and priests.
This annual opportunity, known as saprokshana, spans a year and allows devotees to have darshan for 12 days, starting at 12:30 pm on November 2. The district administration has made extensive arrangements in anticipation of the large turnout, including facilities for drinking water and separate prasadam stalls.
Devotees from various districts and states visit to seek blessings from Hasanambe, who opens her temple doors on the first Thursday of Ashwin and closes them the day after Diwali. The significance of this annual darshan by the goddess is truly remarkable.
