Hassan: Former Minister H. D. Revanna has said that it is not right for the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to come to the District to lay the foundation stone of the Airport work laid by Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda.

Speaking to mediapersons at the MP’s residence here, he said that Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda had performed ‘Guddali Pooja’ for the Bhuvanahalli Airport work decades ago. Now how right it is that CM is coming on March 13 to lay the foundation stone for the same work, he questioned.

Chief Minister is coming to lay the foundation stone for the development works brought in during the JD (S) Government’s tenure and if the opportunity arises, we will stage a protest on that day, he said.

“They are going to loot more than 200 acres of land on the pretext of carrying out Airport work. It is in this context that I am going to inaugurate it through the Chief Minister and have also informed that the Deputy Commissioner and District Superintendent of police about it,” Revanna said.

The new hospital and Taluk Office are still under construction and Chief Minister is arriving in a hurry to inaugurate it. “It has been several months since the work on the Deputy Commissioner’s Office started and what is the purpose of laying the foundation stone now?,” he asked.

“We have no objection to the Chief Minister coming to lay the foundation stone for the works announced in the Budget and we welcome him but we are opposed to him coming back to lay the foundation stone for the works that were laid during our tenure,” he said.
