Hassan: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy said, “Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda, who is aware of the JD (S ) candidate for Hassan Assembly Constituency. He said that the decision will be taken by Deve Gowda.

Speaking to mediapersons at Vaddarahalli Village in Channarayapattana, he said JD (S) National President Deve Gowda has more experience than us to decide on the selection of candidates. “I don’t know the whole nerve of Hassan District, I have not given much time in political journey to this District,” he said.

Reacting to the name of K. M. Raje Gowda coming up from Hassan, he said few other names might emerge in the future and the candidates can be screened till the announcement of the candidates.

Speaking on the issue of D. K. Suresh contesting from Ramanagara, he said, “The Constitution has given the right to stand anywhere. Statements against this issue is just hollow,” he said.

He said that on Saturday March 18, there were demands to go ahead with the ‘Pancharatna Yatra’ at several places and a decision on how to plan for the Yatra in Kadur, K. R. Pete and Periyapattana will be taken. Mandya and Hassan are JD (S ) strongholds and the two National parties are targeting them. They are already saying that they will break the stronghold and the voters will decide who will secure the stronghold in the next elections, he said.

“We are of the view that the service road in front of the Bengaluru – Mysuru toll collection should be fully provided and it is right to rectify the loopholes and go ahead with toll collection,” he said.

“Nagaraj has been selected as the JD (S) candidate from Gubbi Assembly Constituency. CM Ibrahim has spoken about bringing back Gubbi Srinivas, which is a childish statement and made it clear that his decision in the matter will be final,” he said.

Banavara Ashok has already been selected as the JD (S) candidate from Arasikere Assembly Constituency and there is no confusion in it, he said.
