Hassan: In a shocking incident, a college girl slapped a man with slipper on the road.
The girl, who hails from Arasikere, was coming to the Degree College in Hassan. Yeshwanth, a resident of Kiragadalu Village in Alur Taluk, had his eyes on her.
He used to follow her every day. On her way to college, on her way home from college, thus falling behind the girl. While she was on her way back from college, the accused molested her and dragged her by the hand, following which the woman chased him on the street and beat him up with a slipper.
It is reported that every day, he would fall behind that young woman and tease her. The girl did not even tell her parents about it. She had even warned the young man two or three times. Yet he had not corrected his behaviour.
When he allegedly tried to molest her and dragged her by the hand near BSNL Bhavan in front of District Hospital in Hassan city, enraged girl chased the youth in the middle of the road with a slipper and thrashed him, asking if he would do this every day. On learning about this, the public gathered at the spot and handed over the matter to the police.
The incident took place under Women’s Police Station limits and the youth was taken away by the police.
As the girl did not lodge a complaint, the youth was sent away with a warning.
